Status Work Packages

For more information about the earned value techniques (EVT) available in EVMax and how to enter status depending on the EVT assigned to a work package, see the table in the Earned Value topic. Work packages assigned the level of effort (LOE) EVT are automatically calculated.

The following steps assume you are using the Standard View Ribbon Menu option to status a work package.

  1. Select Home > Earned Value in the Navigation Menu. The main EVMax window displays.
  2. Select your project from the Project dropdown in the Ribbon Menu.
  3. Expand the WBS hierarchy as needed to view the work packages.
  4. Select the work package row in the top pane. This enables the Work Package tab in the bottom pane, Add/Edit tab window.
  5. Select the Status EVT tab.
  6. For a work package where the work has begun within the start and end dates of the current reporting period, enter or select an Actual Start date.
  7. For a work package where the work has completed within the start and end dates of the current reporting period, enter or select an Actual End date.
  8. You may need to enter additional status details depending on the earned value technique (EVT) assigned to the work package.
    1. For work packages assigned the % Complete EVT, enter a cumulative to date percentage in the % Complete field.
    2. For work packages assigned the Earning Rules EVT, click the Completed check box for the completed milestone.
    3. For material assumption work packages assigned the Quantities EVT, you can use the Resource BOM window to enter the status. See Status Material Work Packages.
  9. Click Save in the Ribbon Menu.
  10. Repeat Steps 4 through 9 to enter status for other packages as needed.

    Tip:

Should you identify an error in the earned value data, you can clear the current period earned value data (see Remove Current Earned Values), fix the errors, and then status the work packages again.
